Waiting for Moe

Whenever I leave Moe outside he will just stand at the door and stare at Jacob and I with an oh so sad face. Jacob usually tends to notice at some point and always goes over and sits at the door or tries to climb up it, pretty cute!

Scary Spider

I bought Jacob this large cube that has and activity on each side of it. One side has pop goes the weasel, another Old Mac Donald, If your happy and you know it, and several others. As you can see in the picture one of the activities is the itsy bitsy spider. You can pull the spider out and it vibrates back into it's hole as you sing the song. Jacob loves the song, but as soon as he see's this spider he gets very upset. His face scrunches up and he starts crying. We don't understand it all, the things that go through their heads. We try to avoid contact with that side of the cube as much as possible. :)

Big Boy Bath tub

Since Jacob was getting so fearless in his infant bath tub and honestly a little big we moved him to the big boy bath tub. He still seems to really enjoy his nightly bath, this just helps keep his bottom on the ground!

Play date with Jessica!

I don't know if you all remember Jessica??? I baby sat her when I was 5 months pregnant with Jacob. She was 2 months old at the time. We had a much needed play date with Barbara (My friend) and Jessica. It was so fun to see how much she has grown and blossomed since the last time I saw her. She has such a great personality. Jacob and her played very well together. She kept giving Jacob kisses, it was the cutest thing ever!

My 1st. Mothers Day!

It was such a crazy feeling waking up on mother's day and thinking that this is a special day for me. A day to be celebrated for all the love and hard work that I put towards raising our son, Jacob (Such as every mom with their child). I can't believe I am a mother now, but I am very happy about it! We started celebrating the night before by going out to dinner with some friends at a restaurant on the Bund. This was our first time leaving Jacob at home with the Ayi in the evening. It was a little nerve racking, but all went well. We had a great dinner and enjoyed the view. Jacob gave me a great present...he sleep all the way through the night. He has not done this in about 2 to 2 1/2 months. I was so surprised and thankful since this is probably the first time I have not been in bed by 9 pm. On our way out to dinner I was telling Warren how weird it felt, because I had not been outside past 7 pm since we have been back in China.
I guess I kind of forgot about all the hustle and bustle going on in the city. In the morning Warren treated me with a Starbucks coffee and made me blueberry pancakes. I then headed to the spa and got a facial and head, neck, and shoulder massage. It was wonderful!
Warren and I brought Jacob to the pool for his first swim in the big pool. He was not so sure on what to think about it. He was okay as long as I held him so he could see me the whole time. By the end we were able to get a few smiles out of him. Later in the day I felt like we should have some sort of dessert to celebrate so I made an apple crisp that hit the spot! The only bummer of the day was the weather, it rained, and rained, and rained. All in all I would say my first Mother's day was great. I had a very nice day thanks to my loving husband and son!

It's Summer!!!

So I think it's finally summer here. We just skipped right over spring. We have had a very unusually cold and wet spring, wish was a little depressing. Jacob and I have spent many many hours playing on the little area rug in our living room. It feels so good to get out for picnics and stroller rides. Warren and I were even able to bring a play pen outside and put Jacob in there with some toys while we threw the softball for a bit. I thought I would post a few pictures of Jacob in his summer attire, it's so cute to see his chubby little legs and arms exposed!
