It was such a crazy feeling waking up on mother's day and thinking that this is a special day for me. A day to be celebrated for all the love and hard work that I put towards raising our son, Jacob (Such as every mom with their child). I can't believe I am a mother now, but I am very happy about it! We started celebrating the night before by going out to dinner with some friends at a restaurant on the Bund. This was our first time leaving Jacob at home with the Ayi in the evening. It was a little nerve racking, but all went well. We had a great dinner and enjoyed the view. Jacob gave me a great present...he sleep all the way through the night. He has not done this in about 2 to 2 1/2 months. I was so surprised and thankful since this is probably the first time I have not been in bed by 9 pm. On our way out to dinner I was telling Warren how weird it felt, because I had not been outside past 7 pm since we have been back in China. I guess I kind of forgot about all the hustle and bustle going on in the city. In the morning Warren treated me with a Starbucks coffee and made me blueberry pancakes. I then headed to the spa and got a facial and head, neck, and shoulder massage. It was wonderful!
Warren and I brought Jacob to the pool for his first swim in the big pool. He was not so sure on what to think about it. He was okay as long as I held him so he could see me the whole time. By the end we were able to get a few smiles out of him. Later in the day I felt like we should have some sort of dessert to celebrate so I made an apple crisp that hit the spot! The only bummer of the day was the weather, it rained, and rained, and rained. All in all I would say my first Mother's day was great. I had a very nice day thanks to my loving husband and son!
Jealous!
