Christmas tree!

We decided we would set up our Christmas tree here for the last time. We had contemplated it, due to Jacob having to get into everything and trying his hardest to break things. When we first pulled out the tree Jacob was hysterical, just balling his eyes out and screaming. I was thinking, well this is going to be lots of fun :) Once Warren pulled out the christmas lights all was good and he was happy as can be. Side note: Jacob got an ear infection about 2 weeks ago and took a course of antibiotics that didn't seem to help. He now has fluid in both ears and may have sinusitis. We are going to the ENT doctor today and they may do x-rays on him. I am saying this, because it may have been part of him freaking out about the tree, he has not been himself lately a little more irritated with things and not sleeping as well. We also made a decision to not put lights on our Christmas tree this year, because the electrical plug for the lights is a bit risky and with 240 power it would probably kill Jacob if he got his hands on it. Here are a few pictures of the day. The one of the two ornaments on the tree are the ones that Jacob put on by himself.
also we have started our official countdown until we move home: 32 days!!!!

Mr. Mischievous

I was getting Jacob's lunch ready one afternoon when he disappeared into our bedroom for a bit. He brought me a tissue and then ran back to our bedroom. I thought, "oh he is going to keeping bringing me 1 tissue at a time, that is ok, keeps him busy". Once he was gone for a few minutes it occurred to me that he was not going to keep bringing me one tissue at a time he had pulled all the tissues out of the kleenex box. Needless to say I was correct. When I went in to check on him he was actually trying to stuff them back in the box. You can also see the results of his haircut in these pictures.

Jacob's first haircut

Well the time had come probably a few weeks ago actually. I was just holding it off as long as possible, because I didn't want to cut off those curls. Warren actually cut his hair. It's a bit on the short side and a little crooked, but I am sure most of you know it's hard to cut a squirmy kids hair. I was so sad seeing the chunks of hair come off, but now that it's said and done I think it's pretty good. It makes him look more like a little boy instead of a baby.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We hope you all have a very happy Thanksgiving this year. Enjoy all the good food and the company of friends and family. We will be going to a friend's house for Thanksgiving this evening to celebrate. I have been busy cooking and baking. I baked an apple pie, made pineapple stuffing, and green bean casserole. Looking forward to trying all of it :)
I am most thankful for Jacob's health. It was such a wonderful feeling hearing Jacob run around the house talking, laughing, and playing while I was baking and cooking. I remember last year I was suppose to make mashed potatoes and I was so stressed and exhausted I just couldn't do it. What a change, I am thankful everyday for it!
Miss you all and looking forward to celebrations with you in 2011!

Moe!

Jacob has learned how to say Moe. One afternoon he just started saying it. He has been saying it for a few days now and has perfected it a bit more. He loves knowing how to say his name. He walks around the house yelling Moe or if you give him a cracker he goes looking for Moe and says his name so he can give it to him.

Mama's little helper

It seems as if I have a working boy on my hands. He loves to play with the broom, the vacuum, if you give him a wash cloth he likes to wipe things with it, and he loves to play in the laundry room. Here is a video of him vacuuming for me and a few pictures of him organizing my cupboards.

Riding the quad!

I found this quad at an apartment sale....or I should say Jacob found this quad at an apartment sale. A few women were selling all there baby / kid stuff. I was looking around and I heard someone say "Jacob" he was kneeling on this quad and had accidentally hit the forward button. Needless to say he was running into her over and over. He wouldn't get off the bike the whole time I was there so I felt I had to buy it and it was selling for pretty cheap. After a few weeks of playing on it he has finally learned to drive it himself excluding the steering. Here is a little video of him on it.

Basket head

The other evening I had ran into our bedroom to try and get something done while Jacob was busy playing in his bedroom in hopes that he wouldn't really notice I was gone. I came back out to check on him and he walked out of his bedroom with this garbage can on his head. He was smiling and walking all around the house like he was such a jokester. I am attaching a few other pictures I have taken over the month as well.

One Foggy Morning in Shanghai

This was on a Sunday morning. Warren went out to catch the bus, but never ended up seeing it. When he came back he said we all needed to go out on a walk to see the fog. When he had left to catch the bus earlier in the morning it was not foggy at all and as he was standing there he could see it roll in, pretty crazy. We couldn't even see buildings that were across the street from our apartment, if you didn't know it you wouldn't even have known that there is buildings there.

SAUCE!

Jacob can say a few "s" words. For some reason he says sauce, not sure where it came from. He also says socks and shoes. In this video he is saying sauce and the second video he is just babbling and gets more and more excited as he gets closer to the back door.

Pictures of Jacob Man!

Sorry, just feel the need to post random pictures sometimes!

Shanghai Wildlife Park

The last full day grandpa and grandma Buehler stayed with us we went to the Shanghai Wildlife Park. We had a great time. Jacob loved running around and getting to touch a lot of the animals. He even got to pull a baby white tiger's ear, just like he was Moe or something. You can see that in the video attached. It threatened to rain, but held off the whole day. It was the perfect way to end the visit.

Jacob at the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum

During Grandpa and Grandma Buehler's visit we decided to go to the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum. Unfortunately there was about 5,000 kids there for a field trip, so it was a bit on the crazy side. What we did get to see we enjoyed. Here are a few pictures of Jacob enjoying it.
