Random pictures

Jacob loves chair rides from Daddy and is a pro at drinking all by himself. He loves drinking out of a straw. He wouldn't really drink from a sippy cup, but he loves walking around with this cup. He has also decided that certain things need to go in certain places. Like Warren's cell phone should go in the laundry hamper, and some of his toys should go in the tup a ware drawer, and as you can see in one of these pictures his shorts needed to go in that drawer. I took them off for his nap and he grabbed them brought them out in the living room and put them right in there then headed back to his bedroom. Such a silly guy. He is growing up so fast.

Another dress up day

Our little explorer

Jacob loves to be outside. He walks to the front door and stares out the back door several times a day. Yesterday Warren found some frogs in the backyard and put them on the back patio. Jacob was chasing them and laughing. He picked up 2 frogs, but we had to take them from him quickly since he is not gentle. He would probably squeeze the poor things to death. Here are a few pictures of him exploring. We also went on a little walk one day to look at the bunny rabbits, he really enjoyed that!

I can mow lawns for 50 cents!

Here is a quick video of Jacob pushing his lawn mower. He is getting pretty good at it. This is when he was first learning to use it. Enjoy!

Jacob pulling his train!

Jacob loves pulling his train around. Usually he will hold onto one of our hands and then pull the train with the other hand. This morning he decided to do it all by himself. This must have kept him busy for a half hour, it was so cute! Here is a little video...

Update 9/9/10

Here are a few new things Jacob is up to these days....
  • He occasionally dances to music while he is sitting on the floor. He moves his head and upper body forward and backwards with a big smile on his face.
  • His top right incisor tooth has come through. The two front and left incisor are on there way.
  • He is doing his second sign which is putting his finger tips together, this means "more".
  • We are pretty sure he is saying three words. They are not super clear, but they sound close when your listening to them. They are Dad, Dog, and Duck.
  • He has also learned to throw a ball and anything else. He is really enjoying throwing things right now. When he pulls his blocks out of his shape sorter he throws each block first then puts them back in the box.
That is it for now, I will keep you all posted with pictures and videos shortly. Take care!

My first sign!

We are so proud of Jacob...he has learned his first sign language sign. He can sign milk, which is squeezing your hand like you are milking a cow. Now that he knows it he is signing it all the time, it's so cute. Here is a video of him doing it.

My walking has improved :)

I am an official walker these days. I have learned to stand by myself and walk all around the house. I love chasing Moe from one room to the next and I love walking around carrying stuff.

Highlights of my trip back to Oregon

Well it's official, we are back in Shanghai and Jacob's blog is back in business. It was so great to see everyone. We all had a great time. Thought I would post a small slide show of some of the highlights of Jacob's trip back to Oregon. Miss you all already and can't wait to get back home in 4 months!
